The nature island
No beach strip. No cruise crowds. Just rainforest meeting the sea.
Not the Dominican Republic, Dominica, its own small island nation in the Eastern Caribbean, between Guadeloupe and Martinique.
It’s volcanic and green from ridge to shore, with rivers, waterfalls and warm springs running through it. It’s one of the few places in the world where sperm whales live offshore all year.
Jungle Bay is an eco-resort of villas on a forested ridge above the Caribbean on the island’s southwest coast. We’ll have our own cluster of villas, a dedicated yoga studio, private dining and a private van with a local guide for every excursion.
What we’re planning
Five days in the rainforest.
- Four nights in Jungle Bay’s villas, grouped together for our detour
- All meals, with fresh juices from the grounds
- Daily movement and sound with Raquel in our own studio
- Guided hikes to waterfalls and hot springs, with a private van and local guide
- A day on the water with the island’s resident whales (in planning)

Who’s holding the space
Quinton John
Quinton has spent ten years building his own path: backpacking through Asia, volunteering in East Africa and working throughout the wellness industry in Los Angeles and New York. He is a trained sound facilitator and designs and co-hosts every detour.

Raquel Barrantes
Raquel teaches movement and embodiment and leads full sound baths with bowls, chimes, gong, guitar and her own voice. She co-hosts our El Salvador and Dominica detours.
